Series #10 has the #2 Minnesota Twins (97-65) vs the upset ready #10 Chicago White Sox (68-94).

Game 1:  Minnesota (Perry BYZ, 0-0) at Chicago (John BY, 1-0)

Game 1, White Sox Park:  The Chisox score first, in the bottom of the 2nd, Bobby Knoop singles home Ed Herrmann.  In the top of the 3rd, the Twins tie score 1-1 when Rod Carew hit into a bases-loaded double-play.  Harmon  Killebrew hit a lead-off solo homer in the top of the 4th, 2-1 Twins.  Tony Oliva launched a 2-run homer in the top of the 5th, which would turn out to be his only hit of the entire 3-game series.  Rich Reese joined the homer parade with a solo-shot in the top of the 7th.  And the Twins added 2 more runs on a 2-run single by Carew in the 8th.  Meanwhile, Jim Perry goes the distance for the Twins, giving up just 3 hits and 1 run.  Final score: Twins 7, White Sox 1.  The Twins lead the series, 1 game to 0.

Game 2:  Chicago (Horlen CZ, 1-0) at Minnesota (Boswell BY, 0-0)

Game 2 at the Met in Bloomington, MN:  Chicago in the top of the 2nd, gets to Twins SP, Dave Boswell, pushing across a run in the top of the 2nd on an RBI single by White Sox SP, Joe Horlen.  Tommy McCraw adds a solo-homer in the top of the 4th, 2-0 Chisox.  The Twins finally get to Horlen with an unearned run in the bottom of the 6th, 2-1 Chisox.  White Sox go up 3-1 when McCraw walks and scores on another RBI single by Horlen in the top of the 7th.  The 2-run lead was short-lived however when Cesar Tover knocks a Horlen fastball over the fence, a 2-run homer, tie game, 3-3.  Horlen leaves the game as Wilbur Wood goes the next 2 innings for Chicago.  In the top of the 9th, McCraw drives another homer, putting the White Sox on top.  Dan Osinski closes out the Twins in the bottom of the 9th, retiring Carew, Oliva and Killebrew.  Final Score:  Chicago 4, Minnesota 3.  Series tied 1-1.

Game 3:  Chicago (Peters DY, 0-0) at Minnesota (Kaat CYZ, 0-0)

Game 3 in Minnesota:  A battle of lefties as Gary Peters of the Chisox will face Jim Kaat of the Twins.  The game started scoreless thru 2.  In the bottom of the 3rd, the Twins score 2 on an RBI single by Carew and 2 batter later a sac-fly by Tony Oliva.  In the top of the 4th, Buddy Bradford grounds out with a runner on 3rd, scoring the Chisox first run of the game.  In the bottom of the 4th, Leo Cardenas singles home Rich Reese from 2nd, 3-1 Twins after 4.  The Twins add solo runs in the 6th and 7th, and have a 5-1 lead after 7 with Peters only going 5 innings for Chicago.  The White Sox Bradford knocks a solo-homer in the top of the 9th, but it is too little, too late for the Pale Hose.  Final Score:  Minnesota 5, Chicago 2.  With a 2-1 series win, the #2 Minnesota Twins will advance to the AL Semifinals.  The Chicago White Sox are eliminated.
