My fairly recent blog post, titled “Southern Minnesota Baseball Throwback” (https://jimsapbabarn.wordpress.com/2016/02/13/southern-minnesota-baseball-throwback/) featured one of my favorite small-town ballparks, in the heart of southern Minnesota, Waseca’s Tink Larson Field. The uncle I wrote about played much of his high school and amateur summer ball in Tink Larson Field (known back then as Waseca Community Field).
The blaze that struck around 8pm, Wednesday, April 6th.
What is now left of the 80-yr old grandstand.

Hopefully the town of Waseca will be able to rebuild the park, and rebuild using somewhat of the original design. Gone forever are the original Metropolitan Stadium seats which were placed in Tink Larson Field years ago.
The Waseca High School baseball season was to have their home opener, April 8th. The field is shared by 5 different teams throughout the spring and summer months.
